Websites and software for small businesses in Cork and across Munster

View as list

Hello, I'm Nathan.

I make websites for small businesses across Cork and Munster, and software when a website just won’t do the job. I do all of it myself, so you have a single point of contact.

The work

Every job, one line each. Open a file to see how it was built. A demo stamp means I made it to show what that kind of site looks like, not for a paying customer.

Websites

  1. Ardwire ElectricalDemo

A site for an electrician who also fits solar panels, heat pumps and insulation, built around a calculator for the SEAI grants.

People pricing a heat pump want to know the grant before anything else. This tells them in a minute, then asks them for a quote.

  2. Cuas BeagDemo

A site for a family guesthouse in West Cork that takes its own bookings, with an availability calendar, German pages and a guide to the area.

Every booking through a booking site costs the owners around 15% in commission. A booking made here costs them nothing.

  3. The Odd SpoonDemo

A site for a city café with the whole menu as a proper web page, every allergen on every dish, and a filter that hides what you can’t eat.

Most cafés post a blurry photo of the menu on Instagram. This one reads on a phone, turns up in Google, and answers the allergy question before anyone has to ask.

Software

  1. UrbanetricLive product

A traffic simulator for Cork, for councils, engineers and consultants who need to know what a road change will do before it is built.

Testing a road change usually needs expensive software and a specialist. This puts all of Cork in a web app.

Re
Working with me

I’m a developer based in Cork; the biggest thing I’ve built is a traffic simulator for the whole city. I do the whole job myself: design, build, hosting and the small updates afterwards.

  1. You deal with me from the first message to the last update. There is nobody in between.
  2. You get a fixed price before I start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
  3. Everything is built for a phone first, because that is where your customers will see it.
  4. Small changes, like new opening hours or a new menu, are done the same week.
  5. Email me first, and I reply the same day. If a chat would help, we set a time for a call.

Questions people ask

How much does a website cost?
A simple website of one to five pages starts at €500. A site that takes bookings, sells online or has a working feature like a quote calculator starts at €1,200. Hosting and small updates are from €20 a month. You get a fixed price before I start, and no VAT is added: I’m not registered for VAT.
Do you work outside Cork?
Yes. I’m based in Cork and most of my work is in Cork and Munster, but I work with businesses anywhere in Ireland: in person around Cork, and by phone, video and email everywhere else.
What kinds of businesses do you build websites for?
Mostly small local businesses: cafés and restaurants, tradespeople like electricians and builders, guesthouses and self-catering, salons and shops. The demo sites on this site show one for each.
Can my website take bookings, or show my menu with allergens?
Yes. I build booking calendars for guesthouses, table booking for cafés, quote forms for tradespeople, and menus that list the 14 allergens with a filter to hide them. If a booking system you already use needs connecting, I quote that separately.
Who looks after the website once it’s live?
I do. Hosting, an email address on your own domain that forwards to your inbox, backups and small changes like new opening hours or a menu update are from €20 a month, and small changes are done the same week.
Do you build software as well as websites?
Yes, when a website won’t do the job: a stock tracker, a rota tool, a form that feeds a spreadsheet. The biggest thing I’ve built is Urbanetric, a traffic simulator for Cork. Custom software is quoted per job.
How do I get started?
Email me with a line about your business and what you need. I reply the same day with questions or a price. If a chat would help, we set a time for a call.
